It lies at the north of Lazio, between Rome and Grosseto, Tarquinia offers the most varied reasons to be visited historically and artistically. The monuments and places to visit make it unique.
We are talking about a wonderful middle age city, in the middle of the Etruscan land, with a very favorable climate, and a good panoramic vision over the Tirreno. It has his glory moments during the Etrucan period, when it was a capital for big terriotories from Vulci, Volsini and Caere.

The center still mantain beautiful corners, big towers stand out over the streets, which opens themselves to a romanic church or a middle age building, forming the oldest part of the city. Tarquinia is a very famous place also for it's museum and the etruscan graveyard. The museum
is located at the aristocratic Vitelleschi palace, an achivement in gotic-renaissance architecture.

The vast land of Tarquinia arrives to the sea and thanks to its position, there wind uses to be pressent, favorising all kind of boating/surfing sports. The beach is perfect to walk long distances, which a very fine and cleaned sand.

There is also near a golf course, discos, swimming pools, horse cars, theaters, parks, dance schools, etc. During the year a lot of activities are held, mostly relating to music, folk and history.
